End date: October 27, 11:59 PM EST

Another of Promenade’s holidays is scheduled to take place October 21-27. This holiday is Ritornare da Fias, which, as described on the extended information page, is “a week-long celebration in which spirits of those passed come alive.”

What will happen?
★ Fun! Despite the recent tensions in the city, Ritornare da Fias is a chance for residents and outsiders to celebrate the fall. Common activities include eating, eating more, carving pumpkins, dressing in costumes, pulling pranks, story telling (especially creepy stories!) and looking for ghosts! (As a note: ghosts of potentially appable characters are not allowed. ‘Strange’ occurrences such as things moving by themselves, odd noises, and figures seen out of the corner of your eye, however, are!) More details on these activities can be found below.

★ The mirrors, while they still show things as usual, will be behaving somewhat oddly. If you look too close, it might seem like something is looking right back at you -- but surely that’s a trick of the light, right? … Right?

What will the atmosphere be like?
★ Unlike some of Promenade’s other holidays, day and night continue to function as usual.

★ The city’s climate, though typically similar to coastal California, will experience a bit more of a change: trees will be noticeably changing their colors and it will be cooler. Fall is in the air in Promenade, and it shows!

★ During the day, the harvest is celebrated. Food is common on every street corner, with apples, pumpkin/squash-based dishes, and candy overwhelming the others. Many can be found carving pumpkins what pumpkins? into Jack-o-Lanterns, and there are frequent contests for who has carved the best. Costumes are also common, fitting in with the masks easily. There are contests for these costumes, as well.

★ During the night, pranks and tricks are commonly pulled. Trick-or-treaters are common throughout the week. For those who aren’t fond of mischief, night also holds bonfires and fire dancers. Costumes are still common at night, and it isn’t unheard of for people to have different costumes for each day of the festival and for different times of day as well! Many people go on “spirit watches”, looking for the ghosts of their ancestors within the city.

★ While pranks and tricks are tolerated, violence will not be. As a result, the vandalism and scuffles that have been more frequent since the Friendly Reminder event will be kept in check by the guards. Of course, it’s hard to tell who is who with all those costumes...

★ While it is a holiday, the castle, Unnatural, and Forbidden Paths will still be protected as usual. Don’t worry, though -- the guards on duty are being paid overtime.

How will things be set up?
★ The moderators will provide location logs for general mingling, but players are more than welcome and encouraged to make their own posts/logs for the holiday! Once a location log gets too full, we will provide another.

★ In addition, on Sunday, October 23, there will be a special NPC event post!
