I ran across a Q&A feminist column by a pro-choicer, "Ask Amy".
Dismissing Feminists for Life's activism against coerced abortion, Amy insists, "Our goal isn't to force women to have abortions, but to leave it as an option should women want it."

However, then I read a question where a teenager asks Amy, "how do I and my family and her mother Read more... )

What nerve! It says plainly in front of her that early feminists CONSISTENTLY opposed abortion, and if you read the Feminists for Life website you will find that the reason why is because they thought it was child murder. I'm sure they cared about women's health, but that was not why they were against abortion. Amy is lying to those who ask for her advice, and that is the worst thing a so-called feminist can do.

She also said somewhere that there is more stigma against teen mothers than stigma against people who have had abortions.Studies show that the majority of the nation think the unborn deserves rights. Although teenage motherhood may be looked down upon because it encourages sexuality, abortion encourages murder. Also, it is reprehensible that a so-called "feminist" would point out the stigma against teen mothers in an attempt to scare the woman out of keeping her child. I had never in my life imagined such cruelty ( ... )

I'm not really quite sure what camp the theory that it's "selfish" to keep your child belongs in. Amy seems to be a bit of a hypocrite.

I *hate* when other prochoicer's try saying that coerced abortion is a good thing. *rolls eyes* There is a point where one goes from being prochoice to proabortion.
