it IS strange. blah. oh also! i forgot to say this in my previous comment... sometimes when i'm on my period, i get that itchy, allergic feeling when i wear a pad, too. i have to wear a pad [w/ a tampon] the first few days because my flow is heavy... and by the end of the first/beginning of the second, the itch starts to set it. it just plain ol' sucks!!! so again, i feel your pain!
also, i found that soaking in a hot [as hot as you can handel] bath [w/ NO soap] for about 20-25 minutes really helps alleviate the itching.
yup...i am on my period now and thinking very hard about the menes cup issue. it kind of freaks me out because i don't want to directly deal with my blood like that. i have a phobia of body fluids...even my own. lol. except my eye stuff. but, i only use disposable pads right now and have always. i can only use the brand Kotex. that has never been a problem before. it does bother me as much as all the others. i flow pretty heavy as well. i am on othro novum birth control pills to reduce it, the clotting, and most of the pain. but sometimes, that pain...oh my God. so, yes, i understand all of it. i can't use tampons. they just do NOT soak up any of my blood because of all the other stuff that is coming out with it and i have a tilted uterus so i can never find the angle to put them in at and the hang half way most of the time. once in a while i get them in...but it is just too much trouble for me. i really hate my period. hot water does help...but, i can't handle the heat very well right now. i don't know why or what
