I have seen, and heard much about a 'Halloween' in my attempts to find a job. [Which is not exactly going well.] If any have information on it, I would be most grateful.

Would you like the long or short story of Halloween? For this society, I'd say it's just the simple matter of children dressing up in costumes and asking people for candy.

Well, it was a pagan tradition- a religious ceremony to celebrate the the day when this world and the spirit world are the most closely connected. They say you can communicate with the dead on All Hallow's Eve.

Then there are those who believe a great god comes on Halloween and devours children, thus the children dress in costumes to avoid his detection.

Now, it's been mainstreamed by the economy to have people spend money on costumes and candy. Truthfully, after a few millenia of change, I doubt it has anything at all to do with the things it once did.

Still. A good reason to party.
