001. Turnabout the City - [Voice]

If I may have your attention for a moment, I would like to discuss several important matters with those whom the city identify as 'mutants', such as - disturbingly - myself.

First I would like to know your names and a little about yourselves and the worlds that you believe you come from. This is very important. While personal security is certainly ( Read more... )

I am Prima, and while this may seem... strange, I was a sentient machine before I Awoke here.

You are the one the news ticker mentioned--George Evans' article. Is that correct?

Yea, I am.

Quite--and have you been treated by a psychiatric hospital recently, by any chance?

I'm Ed, Edward Elric. From Amestris, the town of Resembool, to the East. I'm a State Alchemist of the Amestrian military -- or, rather, I was back home.

How are the laws and processes different, exactly?

Amestris again. You are the elder brother, I presume?

Without knowing your laws, I cannot presume to know the differences between them.

Yeah, that's right. I'm Al's older brother.

Well, there was the basics, no stealing, no killing, sort of thing, but also ones more pertaining to alchemy specifically, no using alchemy to make gold, no Human Transmutation.

You are keeping an eye on him, I should hope? This city is hardly child friendly.

Hm. Human transmutation indeed... If you stick to the first two at least, you will be some way toward keeping on the correct side of the law here, however if there is something you wish to be advised on, you need only ask.

Hm... I'm not sure what you'd like to know, but my name is Rinoa. I'm sixteen and well, I'm not terribly good at talking about myself...

If that is the case, then what was your world like, Miss Rinoa?

It had gotten.. pretty bad. Army forces trying to take over lesser places, and there was a sorceress.. many of them actually, all throughout time.

A sorceress? Armies I can understand, but I'm afraid magic is somewhat beyond my comprehension.

My name is Roy Mustang, I was a Colonel in the Amestrian military.

If you need any help studying the laws of this world I will be joining ACRO as soon as my application is processed.

Mr. Mustang. Though I appreciate the sentiment, I'm certain studying is the least of my problems--I have some experience with applying myself in that fashion.

What do you hope to do as an employee of ACRO?

Very well. Keep the offer in mind in case anything comes up. It couldn't hurt to have people to count on for an emergency.

Learn about this place and help the people in the community. Just because it's not my home country doesn't mean its people don't need security. *and possibly overthrow the government while he's at it, but that could very well be years and years down the line. Knocking the Fuhrer off his seat was hard enough. Roy needs better goals. B|*

That is the idea of this proposal, at least. While I certainly do not require a study partner, having allies in the field who can be depended upon is a rarity at best.

They would have you believe that this is your home country. Do you accept that?

-Of course.

...Shijima Kurookano. I'll assume you'd prefer to be addressed by your surname, by me.

I would prefer that, yes.
