[When the CommLink is turned on, the image flickers, and there is the shrill scream of static. It corresponds with an almost painful hiss and a string of muttered curses, from a young, feminine voice, dissonant with the harsh words. Flickers of blonde hair and blurs of orange surface in the screen's static. The voice is distorted, words blotted

Hey, don't do anything reckless...

[A pause.]
Why shouldn't I?

Yeah, well... They aren't listening to anything else. Time for drastic action, I say. Besides, I'd rather get into a fight with these weirdoes than obey 'em.
... Wait, who're you? I thought this thing'd... link me up to the head honchos around here, or something...

Dear. Sweetheart. Stay here long enough, and I will show you exactly how you can use that knife of yours.

... Oh really? Excuse me if I'm not entirely convinced. [Cheryl... doesn't quite like you. :(]
Who the hell are you?

Just another who appeared here just as you. Patience. A ruined elevator will not threaten them. Stay, learn, and study your surroundings.
[She laughs again.]
Well. That sounded almost educational, didn't it? But my advice is to understand this place before you make a move.

Listen, lady. I'm not planning on staying here much longer, alright?
... Sure, maybe I have a bit of exploring to do... But I'm not staying any longer than I have to. And if I get the chance and I think it's necessary, hell yeah I'm gonna fight someone and destroy things. I don't want your pep talk.
[She idly attempts to raise the dulled switchblade again and holds it shakily for a moment before it slips from her fingers and clatters to the cement beneath her.]
Rrgh... Hell...

It's some kind of conspiracy. Nobody knows what's going on, but the people from town don't use this network.
[Probably because of people like him.]
In short, your threats aren't going to reach the right ears.

[A sigh.]
Yeah, I'm... kinda just figuring that out now, thanks. Only people I'm reaching are just as confused as I am. .... Guess I'm gonna have to keep looking for whoever did this, then.

If someone named Ego talks to you, or a reporter named George, be wary. Both are shady and firmly believe in our being deluded.

Ego and George, huh? Mm. I'll keep an eye out. Probably gonna be wary around anyone here, though.

Hell no, I'm not going to negotiate with these weirdoes! Like they'd listen, anyway. Load of mental cases... And I keep hearing I'm the crazy one.

I'd rather fight then just go along with what they're saying like some kinda sheep. Even if I didn't do so well against 'em, at least I wouldn't be sitting around doing nothing about this.
... I get it though. I'm gonna have to look around this place a bit more before I can do anything. [She sighs; she wants to get out of here as soon as possible, but knowledge is power, eh? Those stupid cartoons were right, and she's had to begrudgingly tell that to herself.] But I'm not gonna negotiate. This may be their way of life, but I don't want any part of it.

But with that kind of weapon, do you really think you can make any headway?

Of course I can. It's not like they're entirely useless. I just have to hit hard enough, or in just the right place... Besides, I can improvise.
