The presentation was a success!

The presentation last night went great. Far better than I expected. I recognized only ahkond and an editor I knew from O'Reilly (and who I was in contact with last year about this-n-that) as people who showed up specifically to hear me, but there were maybe 30-35 people all told. Super-geeky highlights included daerr fixing a bug that someone found in my example code and checking it into Subversion while the discussion about it was still going on

This does not surprise me, but it still is amusing.

I enjoyed it, and if I were a game designer I'd be interested in volity implementation, but being reminded of perl things has made it clearer to me why perl never really turned me on (in a nutshell, it's too damn cryptic). I think I'm going to try porting my recreational perl vanity project from perl to Python, just to see what happens.

I cannot tell you how much I miss that. Working with Real Programmers and people who Know Things is awesome.
