Sort of. I'm going to take it easy with the food coz I don't feel hungry, despite not having eaten (and retained) anything but a bowl of chicken both over the last two days. I take this as a sign to go slow.

About to enjoy another bowl o broth. MmmmMost of last night actually saw me concentrating more on staving off a terrible caffeine-withdrawl ( Read more... )

It's gonna be at least two days now... I actually bought a small black at this morning alongside some juice, but couldn't bear to even look at it when I got home. Diuretics are really really not what I need right now.

No withdrawal effects after day 1, though. (I am blaming my lack of energy on the fact I haven't been eating any food.) So it's an interesting bit of self-knowledge gained, at least.

well, you might want to consider green tea.

it's a superfood with a cape that is chok full of antioxidants and it's tasty as well.

Rah for jolt!

I am lucky that I don't get caffeine withdrawl headaches -- because I do occasionally manage (like on this trip I am on!) to go a few days without any -- all that happens is that I get slower.

Excederine has caffeine in it for this reason, of course.. to help with headaches.
jolt gum? urgh. how about some penguin mints instead? or just go straight for the no-doze tablets?

I happened to have the gum in my Bag of Many Things. I'm not normally a gum person... the idea of a food-like item that turns to garbage in your mouth, requiring separate disposal procedures, has never really appealed to me. But, I am grateful that I had it last night.

Really I'm not all that much of a fan of caffeiene as I am for the whole coffee experience, the mind-sharpening properties being just one aspect. So I don't hound the penguins or the bawls or all the other thinkgeek.com snacks a lot either.
