For some reason, ITV2 didn't air the next episode of Scorpion in the usual slot, but rather a different show altogether. I don't know why and now that I’m online, I can’t see when they are planning on airing it next either. Grr.

Home Fires 2.4

Good casting with Noah, he did indeed look the spit of his father. I felt that Noah’s self-righteous grandfather should put his grandson’s welfare as his top priority, not honouring his adulterous father’s provisions, which didn’t foresee the eventuality of Helen being dead too. I’m not saying that that would have led him to agree to angry/hurt Frances’s offer, but I'd have liked different workings out.

Uh-oh. The delightful Bob has been malingering, which should come as no surprise as he’s been likening himself to a soldier. By the way, he must have tidied the kitchen up after his strop. Pat continues to be a terrible liar.

Joyce also continues to be a good wartime president with seeing the need for the first aid training. The WI ladies’ feelings about all this tending wasn’t on her, and I daresay someone or several of them will have to use their skills for real soon enough.

I thought Laura suggesting to David that he should join the observatory was a good step forward for him. Tiny thing, but I wasn’t sure whether his line about the Wing Commander was a reference to Laura’s Scandal - would he have known? She could have been acerbic about that or unwilling to put up with him being in a funk.

Despite Allison’s efforts, I didn’t think Therese should be lying about the cooking or forcing her feelings for Nick (side-eyeing his alacrity at getting over Sarah). It’s not fair on him.

Meanwhile, they’ve found a way for Allison to be an undercover accountant!

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD 3.16 Paradise Lost

Not as gripping as it could have been. Malick had obviously pushed his brother under the metaphoric bus, though I was misdirected about the death he'd seen - Lenz was working the ruthlessness hard, so I’m disappointed Stephanie got killed off before we'd seen her be a villain in her own right.

They might need to work a little harder on the SFX for Maveth's alien head.

I didn’t track why the team were following up the company HYDRA were interested in. But they were busy picking up clues about that and Maveth. Still, sending Linc AND Daisy when the rest of them were going after an Inhuman who was also a trained ACTU agent was an act of idiocy. May seemed a little baselessly cocky, which isn’t a good look on her, though the fight scene was entertaining, and they should have sedated him or at least hung around in pairs.

But Daisy and Linc had to meet and greet the never-before mentioned wannabe inhuman. I was rather sympatheric to him when Daisy removed all the landmines. Sure, find out where they are so you don’t step on them, but it is his private property. Anyway, he was charming (not) but convenient, and dropped another ordanance with the news of Linc's ex-girlfriend. I daresay she’ll pop up eventually, but my, as I’ve said before, they really are giving ‘the haircut’ (heh) a pile of backstory.

And now one of the team is in jeapordy (I could live with it being Mac. I think I’d seriously drop the show if it were May. Thus endeth my speculation.) But IN SPACE, not in Earth atmosphere.

Some angst form Coulson about how he handled Ward, but maybe May will get to kill him off again. Surely they will be writing Brett Dalton off by the end of the season.

I'm not sure yet when I'll be able to see Civil War.
