Murray's talk at Middleburry's

Murray's account of the event.
Video of the students shouting down his lecture.
Murray's "The Bell Curve" was the first "large" book that I read in English - that was 1995. I really doubt anybody from those shouting youngsters read it.

I got intrigued and found the bell curve. I spent the whole evening reading it.

Well, I would not go to protest of course, but I would not go to listen his lecture ether. Perhaps my cognitive abilities are too low, but reading books like this makes me sick.

Incidentally, "bell curve" was published in 1994. His lecture was on his recent book titled "coming apart" on increasing rate of inequality in America. I would love to hear that. I also like to listen to people I disagree with as long as they are honest - that helps me critically assess my own views.

Do not get me wrong. I am not against of him talking about his books and ideas. In fact, thinking about it more, I would probably join you for the lecture. But, I am freaked out by what people can come up to if they bother to listen to him.
