Thanks! I would have carried it much further if I hadn't exhausted myself and run out of time. I think this needs a bit more work before it's top notch, but I do like the way it turned out. I like working in John's voice-- he's sardonic and cutting.

I'm finally getting a chance to catch up with all the goodies - what a fantastic fic! I love the way you've captured both John and Rachel here, and the way the vignettes juxtapose their fears and their losses.
