I love the use of the lyrics and Jack's horrible realization that even the hating with passion had fizzled, just as Sam was realizing she did love and need him more than as a one-night stand. It also seems weirdly and sadly appropriate that these two brilliant communicators, who have so much insight into people's behavior and motivations in the general sense of things, are so hobbled in their attempts to connect with one another.
...and, wow, I think you just penned an episode of "Mad Men" right here! Wonderfully done, you made this old Angst Ho very very happy!

Sam is so blind and even the most loyal of dogs need a bone now and then. Poor Jack would probably take her back if she groveled and went all out but I think he would not trust her easily. I thought of a happy ending but decided to leave it angsty and keep them apart :o)
Oy veh! You got me hooked on Mad Men. Another series, the last thing I needed ;o) Now to get the Profiler/Mad Men crossover finished and posted sometime.
