i've used it before in one of my short stories ... it's from a loreena mckennitt song, "remember me." the exact quotation is "give these clay feet wings to fly to touch the face of the stars"

What an original idea for a new beginning! I love the way you portrayed Coop, the poor guy -- he never really had much of a chance to show a very full emotional range on the show itself and it's nice to see a deeper side of him. Nicely done and it's always nice to read more of your work! :)

aww, gee, thanks ...i've always had a soft spot for Coop ... I mean, he really cared for Sam and it just never worked ... poor guy ... and what a shitty way to end it ... he deserved a more dignified end ... and i think that if he were given the choice, he would watch over Sam ...
