A Few Questions about Last Time Travel + Some things about Curious Village

Aug 28, 2009 05:55

I've noticed several people have played and finished the third game here, so I was wondering if it would be possible to answer a few questions. I don't think anybody mentioned understanding it, but I'm guessing actually playing the game could give an idea to some of these.

Cut just in case the questions are spoiler-y )

game: unwound future, request: help, game: curious village

1. So depressing T___T By the boat, I'd guess America or Asia as I can't see anywhere else in Europe being too far for Layton to see him ( ... )

And just because I enjoy thinking... I always hate when a parent figure lets their kid travel all over with someone and then all of a sudden decides to take them and move them somewhere in a show/game. Seriously. I don't get that. Stupid Luke's Dad T___T I guess we'll find out more about the whole thing with the 4th game though and seeing how that comes out in a few months, might as well be positive. (But seriously, the ending in this game made me cry. I just can't seem to sit with it well XD)

For a puzzle game, it doesn't have enough story answers :P

Although the Layton series are composed of various puzzles, I consider the story being a "mystery" story - that's why it has so many questions unanswered. It's like those murder-mystery police stories, because there's always murder/drama involved in the Layton stories... which maybe is why I was first in love with the series besides it's characteristic drawing style ^^

Oh btw, I just joined the community too, nice to meet you (and everyone else) XD

*elaborates on some questions*

2. I was under the impression that she's still with Layton, she just wasn't with him in that last scene of the game. The professor is her guardian after all.
3. There was a bit more to it than just "she was already dead" because Dimitri had been trying to make a time machine to save her which, it seemed, was almost kind of working. But the reason she didn't want him to save her was because messing with the flow of time was dangerous, and if she survived, someone else would probably end up dying in her stead, which just kind of isn't fair.

If she's still with Layton, then yay :D I just found it odd she wouldn't see Luke off with him. Or maybe she was there, but upset in the background as she knew it was more there time to say goodbye.

Poor Claire :( Poor Layton. Though, I'm glad they did do the whole logical thing in a way, but it still was depressing to see her go...even though all I watched is a few random clips and the last scenes.
