Haven't tried Conquest yet, but it sounds intriguing! And aah no you made me want to look into SW, too. /fistshake

Pokémon Conquest is great! I'd definitely recommend it. It's not exactly super deep or anything (and I've seen some people criticize that, though personally I'm fine with it), it's just... simple and fun! :D

I played through 999 last spring-though, I didn't read much about it beforehand, so while I knew there were multiple endings, I didn't know how you got them, so I was like, "psssh, I will just make perfect choices and get the best ending on my first runthrough, because I am that aweseome."

...then I got the axe ending and was like "nuuuuu i made perfect choices why am i dead"

...then I just Youtubed other endings rather than playing through them. :P /lazygamer

But yeah. The game's tense/dark atmosphere worked for me, but I can totally see why it wouldn't appeal to everyone. and omg yes Lotus I like did a squee when she revealed her computer hacking badassery in the game.

I'd never heard of Enneagram personality types, but as a fellow personality-type dork I went and looked them up and took a test and it's rad. (Evidently I'm 9w8, though I was very close to being 7w8.)

And, I actually just started playing Conquest! I've only got five kingdoms beaten, so I'm not very far yet, but I like it :D

Haha, the True Ending wouldn't make any sense if you hadn't seen the Safe Ending, so I can actually see why the developers would force you to see that one first! :D And I was seriously considering just youtubing everything, too. The game should just let you skip puzzles you've done and cutscenes you've seen before (fast-forwarding through dialogue isn't really enough).

Now I'm reminded that I still need to take an Enneagram test! I'll do it when I stop being lazy. ... And when it's not 5 AM in the morning.

And ahh yes Pokémon Conquest is tons of fun *_*!! I sort of ended up burning myself out on it because I grinded so much, but that's really my own fault.

APOLOGIZE TO THE FUNYARINPA!

This is an interesting write up! I started one somewhere, even with links, but then I forgot to post that. This happens more than you think. I played Safe, Sub, True and Axe. I read the script for Knife, but didn't bother with getting it after I read the script because I hated the puzzles on that route so much and found that ending abrupt and disturbing. If I have to suffer through those damn puzzles again, I'm going at least to get badass!Junpei calling out Ace and Snake being amazing.

I actually found the axe ending hilarious, though the Sub ending terrified me because I was not expecting that sudden knife in the back. I thought the events of Sub ending were really interesting, it's one of my favorite paths, but the ending itself was full of WTF!! At least until I beat True and it was like ooohhhh so that's what was up with that

I'M SORRY FUNYARINPA did the game ever even tell you what a funyarinpa is I'm guessing no

I haven't even looked up the Knife ending because I'm too lazy and I've heard it's not too interesting in comparison to the others, ahaha. I liked the Sub ending, too -- but moreso because of Door 2 having some nice character development for Lotus and Seven than anything else, I think! :D (The Axe ending just kind of made me roll my eyes because anime has completely desensitized me to crazy girls with axes)

I actually didn't find the game particularly scary, which is odd because I'm terrified by things that really shouldn't be scary (like, say, Zelda)! I'm guessing it's because it's not real-time, though. If it had been, I'd probably be scared of dying all the time D: But I've seen others mention that the game made them lose sleep, too, so you're definitely not alone
