Route 3, Chapter 8: Life and Death

In the aftermath of shocking events, Tsugumi is dragging me off somewhere!

She seems pissed.

I'm following already, stop dragging me.

Tsugumi is very disappointed!

What is your PROBLEM?

Damn it, woman, give me a HINT!

...!

Apparently this conversation is going to happen on a Gondola.

She is mad about something I said before.

She's mad about some of the inspiring stuff I said to Kid!

About how we're all in this together, so we have to cooperate and stay alive.

Apparently that makes me a hypocrite?

Tsugumi denies the allegation!

In doing so, she is full of shit!

Just be yourself for once, already!

Bullshit!

Seriously, just, tell me what's wrong!

Oh hey!

Apparenlty she's going to tell me.

Because we're friends or something similar.

Yes.

It is a hamster.

Um. Tsugumi?

Stop it.

What are you doing

WHAT ARE Y

WHAT THE FUCK

WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK

Chami is dead.

Crushed to death in an instant.

Nothing's going to happen, Tsugumi. That's what it means when something dies.

Tsugumi is crying...

...what?

Chami, who was crushed to death moments before,

is alive again.

I don't know, but Tsugumi does.

Having bitten her on the finger, Chami has the same virus as her.

What the fuck, Tsugumi!

You can't just do something like that, then write it off as "as long as you're alive, it's fine"!

It's the same, though.

I said the exact same thing to Kid.

I don't really know what to say at this point...

Do you know... how many times I've died?

Of all the original known carriers of this virus, Tsugumi was special.

A fact that she found out when she was hit by a semi-trailer outside of a hospital.

Her circumstances, actually, were pretty similar to Sara's.

She didn't even know where she was after the accident. Just that it was another hospital, and people kept taking blood samples from her.

First Tsugumi started to wonder why all the lab animals were kept in such small cages.

Then she realized that she was being kept just the same.

For eight years, she was their guinea pig.

Not even treated like a human being.

I'm starting to figure out why everything I say seems to be wrong.

It's because there's no real idea of right and wrong here.

There's just things that you have to accept.

As the Gondola reaches the entrance again, Tsugumi leaves.

To be continued
