What's up

Dec 09, 2008 22:13

So here's what's up with me:

I went to the physical therapist, and she thinks it's not just tendinitis but some sort of nerve thing.  The pain problem goes all the way from my ankle straight up my knee and into my hip and back, so now I need to do some exercises and and something called "nerve flossing" and go back about twice a week for a lot of ( Read more... )

I'm sorry to hear that you've been feeling poorly, and I hope that you make a speedy and successful recovery Prof!

As a dedicated Sims addict (since TS1) I will have to say that TS3 is not looking all that attractive due to all the typical reasons already stated. So I can safely say that I will still be writing my stuff and reading everyone else's stories (more the latter than the former unfortunately). A couple of months ago, I probably wouldn't have said that, but now that I've found the jackpot of good, competent writers, I'll probably be lurking at boolprop for a very long time; most likely doing the ever so elegant pee pee dance everytime SC or other stories get updated.

Enjoy your much needed and deserved break Prof, and have a happy holiday :)

Aw, thanks. I really do think we're pretty lucky at Boolprop. There are a lot of good stories and a fairly decent community, too.

Aw, I'm sorry about your leg. Sometimes low-impact exercise can help nerve problems, though, and physical therapy sucks but I'm sure you'll feel better soon now that you're getting treatment ( ... )

I have to figure out what I can and can't do. The ballet stuff I love is low-impact, but the problem is that I roll over on my on ankle, being a flat-footed dork, and then I damage my ankle some more.

I DON'T like the neighborhood that ages simultaneously. Some families would die before I had the chance even to play them! I probably will try it eventually, but even if I had a PC, I would wait to see what people thought and what EPs were in the pipeline. I didn't do that with Sims2; I didn't start to play until 2006, so I got base game up through Pets very quickly.

Can you ask your therapist if there are any exercises you can do?

But I get discouraged when I think "after April, everybody will completely lose interest in this."
LIES. I'm so uninterested in ts3, there are no words. So I'll definitely still be following ts2 legacies!

Summit has lost their damn minds if they think that New Moon can be made in a year. And why do the fans want Joss Whedon? He'd end the movie with Edward going through with the sparklicide. Do they know NOTHING about his no-happy-endings policy? *sigh*

I'm curious to see who will end up directing it, though, and what they'll do with it.

I'm still trying to figure it out. I tried a bit of the recumbent bike, where my ankle doesn't shift around a lot. If it doesn't hurt too much, I may stick with that ( ... )

Yeah, it made me a weentsy bit cross, too. I don't get it, because that's Hollywood's First Law: Thou Shalt Not Mess With That Which Hast Made Thee Money.

I think the excuse/explanation is "oh, those bananas fangirls would have gone to see it anyway: she's not responsible for the money thing," but still, the general rule is that you don't screw with something that's working. The only reason Chris Columbus didn't do all seven Harry Potter films is that he burned out and realized he couldn't do all seven. They didn't fire him; he quit.

Ouch. That sounds very not fun. I hope that everything they are having you do for it helps soon.

I understand the end of the semester pain, I'm there too. In fact, this is a break from a paper writing session. I can't wait for it to be over and be finally able to catch up on legacy updates and playing like crazy.

BTW, count me in as one of the many who won't be making a switch to the Sims 3. They would have to really impress me to convince me to leave a game that I have put a LOT of money into (Base game, 8 EPs and 10 SPs gets really expensive! fast) and that I am still enjoying and I don't expect it to do that. I'm also only just on gen 4 of the Penguinos and I am determined to finish them and I will not stop reading my favorite legacies just because EA released a new game. I certainly hope they decide to port the rest of the EPs for the Macs though. I can't figure out why they wouldn't want to tap into that market when they are so eager to make money on everything else.
