Today I went to the San Diego Polo Club and saw my first-ever polo match --possibly my last, because I don't know if I'd have even thought of it before, let alone driven all the way out to a polo grounds, if it hadn't been an alumni event.
[Polo is fun!] This was something I heard about through Cambridge in America. It was mostly an Ivy League event, but they

Polo matches are fun, aren't they? I went to one on an abandoned grass airstrip near Detroit years ago with a friend. We had a blast! Pretty much no rules, and a lot of pretty horses and pretty polo players to look at!
We used to get the polo players exercising their horses over at the Horse Park across the street in San Diego. Talk about some expensive animals--yikes. And the fact that you need a STRING to play one match... Much like anything involving horses, it's not a cheap hobby!
The polo players are VERY pretty. There's something about sports and things from Argentina, like that video of my teacher I posted with the boleadoras in his mouth. It's way too much testosterone for me to cope with personally, but I can fangirl with the best of 'em.
Yeah, I know! Horse hobbies also eat up TIME. That's why the first My Little Ponies were made. They were supposed to be normal horse colored, for little girls who couldn't afford the time or money for real ponies. It was Hasbro who added "oh, and let's make 'em pink! With butt sparklies!"
Okay, okay, wait a minute, SAN DIEGO POLO CLUB? You were down here and didn't let me know???? :(
But beyond that, you had fun!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D I've never seen a polo match live, but it does seem like it would be a lot of fun. I'm really glad you got to enjoy yourself!
I know. I really wanted to, but I also knew that I would feel bad about not being able to manage a visit at the same time. The drive plus four hours alone knocked me out. I'm hoping we can get together soon, though!
EDIT: It was in Rancho Santa Fe. I don't know if that's anywhere near you? It seemed way closer to Escondido. I know the exit was before the 15 splits off--if that sounds familiar.
