Oooh! Loved it! Another branch of the Goodytwoshoes family tree then? And LOL at the whole honorary degree thing. I completely agree with Lytton's feelings on that.

Hmm--let's put it this way. Laurence's Mom is right about Anon.: the family really is descended from him. And there really was a startling likeness between Anon. and the King of Puritania, but how far it goes beyond that, even I don't know ( ... )

Ahhh got it. :-)

And Lytton totally deserves his honorary degree. O.o at the graduation ceremony you sat through.

At first I thought it was a descendant of Cecil's then I remembered that the bard looks a lot like the king. Of course, the king also asked the bard if he was related so...

LYTTON! <3 he's so adorable. And i agree with you, Prof, he *should* get a Phd for History, but I also agree that it's classier to act like you don't.

LYTTON! <3 Did I say that already?

(I have to comment on your last chapter BTW. I have, once again, fallen woefully behind.)

I agree with you on Lytton. He is adorable. I am glad you like him and [redacted]. He doesn't get enough love, I think: Cecil keeps stealing the show, the little attention hog. It's actually kind of nice that Cecil has moved on: if I keep writing stories about the family, and I intend to, Lytton can step up into a different spot.

I'm in no position to complain about comments! I'm frighteningly behind.

The Bard and the King's descent is all very confusing. It was a coincidence at first--sort of a CAS private joke. Then Tarleton mentioned that his father was a cobbler, which happened for a totally unrelated reason--Christopher Marlowe's father was a cobbler. Then all of a sudden I remembered that cobblers make shoes, and presumably Tarleton's father made good ones. DERP. Well, what the hell. There are some things that elude even the Watcher, right?

Oh gosh, and I can't resist pointing this out: notice that Laurence's coat has slashes and tatters? That's not just because he's a poor graduate student. Those shreds and patches are the traditional tattered outfit of Renaissance fools. Shoulda been multi-colored as well, but I liked him having a greyish Badass Longcoat.

I have way too much fun with this. Like Laurence, I ought to be doing more serious research.

Aww, Lytton. <3 I bet he must be excited to meet someone like Laurence, with all that information about Puritania. And related to Anon, on top of that. (I would have wondered whether he's related to Cecil too, if I hadn't read the comments and then remembered the Bard.)

Very interesting to read this piece. :)
