Yep, I did get home

Dec 29, 2010 21:28

I'm still catching up on my sleep.  Everything went fine once I was in Houston, but I'm still pretty tired because I arrived at Houston at 3 AM and had to go out through security lines, collect my luggage, re-check it, and go back through security.  I couldn't really get any sleep until my flight took off, but I caught a few zzs on the plane.  I ( Read more... )

Glad you made it home safe! Snow can be rather terrifying and having to travel in it-any sort of travel-*shudder*

And, as usual, can't wait for the SC update, even if it is the finale. *sniffle*

SC FTW!

And yeah, the winds were worse than the snow, especially as they were a serious problem with cleaning the snow - a lot of it kept getting blown back where people had just cleared it because of the insane wind.

I do blame the government a bit, though, because it's Wednesday night and the storm ended Monday morning and there are still areas that have not been plowed once, which is not of the good.

I'm not as "ARGH" about it as a lot of people, though, probably because my area really isn't a problem.

Yay for safely returning home, anyway! :)

Oh, yeah, Bloomberg, well. That definitely should have been handled better, although still better than NJ, where both the Governor and the Lieutenant Governor were on vacation and did not bother to come back. I think Christie's butt is toast when it comes to future elections. And ambulances trapped with people still inside? EEK.

No, I was mostly thinking about the airport, like the FAA deciding that maybe it needed to be closed or limiting the number of hours an airplane can sit on the tarmac with passengers inside. From what I saw, they were doing their best to make sure no one got hurt or killed.

Yeah, Bloomberg and NYC should've handled that better. I did feel a bit bad for Bloomberg, because he clearly has at least a cold, but at least he's STILL TRYING TO DO HIS JOB, which...yeah, definitely more than you can say for New Jersey. It's more Christie than his LG, too, because the LG was already on vacation and Christie LEFT ON SUNDAY, by which point they totally knew how bad the storm was going to be.

Yeah, the airports were...less problematic, since they WERE looking out for safety, though still problematic in some ways. The Kennedy planes that got stuck overnight on the tarmac were probably hell, though.

Glad you got home safely! After all, even though being delayed sucks, it's still better than getting hurt in the dangerous weather.

As said by everyone: SC YAY!
