Dang, that is some bad times. You know, I actually used to have night terrors and other high-octane nightmare business (non-medication related.) I found that I tend to have very intense dreams, but the part where they become 'nightmares' has a lot to do with control. Have you ever tried lucid dreaming? It can take a while to show results, but it depends on how much work you put into it. Perhaps if you were able to exert more control in the dream, they wouldn't have to be quite so awful.
Just once wouldn't it be nice to see listed among side effects "MAY INDUCE QUIET JOY; MAY CAUSE INCREASED GENEROSITY, KINDNESS, AND ABILITY TO CONNECT; DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SMILE AT STRANGERS, AS DOING SO MAY CAUSE AN OVERLOAD OF ENDORPHINS" or suchlike.
I like the idea of lucid dreaming as a way to ratchet down the terror. Is there a class of professionals who can be consulted on this?
Re reduced sensitivity enabling accidental sprains etc (and of course I have a different cause for the clumsiness): earlier this year I dropped a glass, neglected to note the hairline fracture in the glass, attempted to wash it anyway, and cut open a 3/4 inch flap of skin on my left index finger. Didn't need stitches, but now I have a permanent > symbol scarred between the second and third joints. I have since gotten rid of any glass thinner than a pint glass.

I haven't attempted lucid dreaming in 30 years or so, but if I could do it at 14, I can do it now. Right?
Do you think of it as a greater than/less than symbol, or a letter v?I have a scar across my right wrist that looks like a failed suicide attempt. I got it while working on an assembly line. I always wonder what people are thinking when they see it.

Greater than symbol. The wound healed improperly, or rather the flap wasn't pulled tight enough up the finger (I really should have had stitches), so now I have a little fissure of less protected flesh, a couple of millimeters wide (it hurts when I bonk it, which is often). I think I'm the only one to notice it.
