one thing though:
"Yumachika grumbled to himself as he searched yet another back-alley bar searching for Ikkaku,"

The two 'searches' in such a short span of words made that part kind of repetitive... maybe just:
"Yumachika grumbled to himself as he searched through yet another back-alley bar for Ikkaku,"
would sound better?

The part where Yumachika catches sight of something glinting made me chuckle. Ikkaku should be happy that he's bald at times
