[The video opens with Dumbledore looking at the camera, seeming to have finally figured out how to work it as intended. The background is different this time; the room he is in seems dark, musty, and not particularly well-cared for.Well, this summer seems to be shaping up to be a busy one. I've had to hurriedly gather old friends and comrades in ( Read more... )

Yes, it is quite a 'long' summer. I can't believe I, Mr.Crocker, have to teach summer school.

Interesting how Turner isn't in here. Someone must had messed with my files... or something. FAIRIES!

I failed that child for a reason.

[Cringes at the noise]

Mudblood?

[There's a long pause]

What's going on Mr. Dumbledore?

(welcome back ^^ and pardon if tags are really slow, I won't be able to tag good till sometime next week)

Ah, I'm sorry to hear you've been stuck with summer school duties. Though, would fairies be concerned with school files? ...though, I am forgetting, your fairies are different than here.

[He cringes slightly at the word] It's a hateful term for those that have magical powers but do not have magical parentage. There are some wizards here that obsess over having 'pure' bloodlines at the expense of those who were born with non-magical parents.

At the moment? One of the portraits has a tendency to get rather upset at our presence here and has been very vocal about it.

((Thanks! :D And no worries, reply when you can.))

Yes, yes of course. I'll get out soon. They can't keep me here forever! Then I'll have more time - FAIRY HUNTING!

[Rather darkly] You'd be astounded if I told you of my findings. What THEY are capable OF! [/darkly] FAIRIES! [Spazzes and you hear him go bonk]

Yes! And one day, I, Mr.Crocker, hope to study yours.

[Rather darkly] ... In fact I have a need for one at the moment... [/darkly]

To test a theory! [Almost spazzing here]

We ought to exchange notes. I have some on a dragon from another world you may find 'interesting'

Interesting concept Mmmmm.. [scribbles that down]

[Short Pause as he replies interested and curious]

Portraits talk in your world? Fascinating.
And are entirely aware of presence. It may not be fairies but it's still interesting!

What is the 'outside' influence of these portraits, that cause them to be vocal? Genies? Fairies? Pixies? Witches?

(Welcome and thanks ~ and pardon for the edits the net kept cutting me off >:)

[He smiles, clearly intrigued] I'd be very interested in seeing the notes you have on this dragon. In exchange, I'm sure I could find a fairy for you to study -- or, if you're willing to worldhop, there are some areas here heavily infested with fairies.

The portraits do talk, some quite vocally. [As if to emphasize, the female voice downstairs grows shriller] It's magic that allows them to speak, a spell cast while the portrait subject is still alive. Portraits are generally of deceased witches and wizards, taking on some of their characteristics from life...[He sighs] This one, I'm afraid, only seemed to latch onto her mental decline and temper.

I hope you made that impossible to trace...

I'm not too concerned. There's about five generations' worth of enchantments on this place, quite a few having to do with Muggles being able to spot this place. Especially since even if you were to trace the exact location of this place, you'd never be able to enter the house.
