woah are you for real? Excuse my cynicism - just that i find it unbelievable someone from Dell actually stumbled across my whiny entry :P
Having said that, if you're the real McCoy, i am truly impressed. You must have a brilliant market intelligence field team! Considering i didnt even tag this entry as "Dell".
Anyways, Larry, back to the issue at hand, my Dell is working fine again. The info you have offered above is very insightful - I will run some checks as you have suggested. Do not worry yourself about any further issues I might run into. I neglected to inform that this is actually my corporate laptop, so i have a IT service desk to go to. :)
I want to let you know i very much appreciate your great customer service. It is truly commendable and world-class! If there is anything i could do to feedback on your service i would gladly do so.
The cynicism is understandable, considering. ;) Yes, I am real. Dell has a service that checks various search engines such as Technorati for any posts from customers about Dell. The job of my team is to try and contact those people that are posting about problems to see if there is anything we can do to help. In this particular case we actually got two "hits", this blog and the picture on flikr of the stop error (I saw the names and guessed correctly they were the same person).
I will make sure to pass on your feedback as Dell is always looking for feedback from customer. If there was anything specific you wanted to say that isn't already here on the website (good or bad) just send it to the email address I listed above and we will make sure to include it.
