Oh wow - that's stunning and very clever. Last line is a killer wrap-up. Well done!
It should be noted that this fic knocked me to my knees without any prior knowledge of your crossover fandom, so I'd say that power rules, and this ficlet is most certainly powerful.

Thank you for commenting! I am particularly glad that you found the fic still works if one has no prior knowledge of the other continuity. I always worry with my crossovers that they might leave people out in the cold, especially when the two continuities are not obvious play-mates. Thanks again!

Yes, but I do not write Lost fics all that often. The other ones on my LJ (there are five, I think) all have the "Lost" tag as well.

oh.
my.
god.

Jack grieves for the daily sacrifices that stoke the beams of its beacon now
This is so far beyond chilling that I've no word for it. And yet it's the final sentence that makes my hair stand on end. Absolutely incredible, and I love it!

use of mindfuckery icon should be self-explanatory

Yes, indeed. I am very tempted to set up a "How You Get to 40K From Here" pan-fandom challenge. Of course, some continuities make it easier than others...

Hi there. Have come here to read from a rec, and am glad I did.
I will agree with what has already been said... this works great even though I don't know anything about what crossover is used, and the last line? Inspired!
Great work. :)
