Seakitty Sponsorship!
I finally got the final word from Barry-mun. We are now officially the major sponsor of Mezzanote Capolavori, the new non-native opera house. Mammon, seeing the opportunity to better Beato's name on Atia, has negotiated with Barry and Vincent a suitable arrangement.
All the nitty-gritty financial details are being handled by Mammon, being Greed, but the short version is that we're giving large amount up front to help get the house up off the ground since they need to start paying the employees before the first performance brings revenue in. Once the house opens, we're providing a lesser monthly sum to ensure our private opera box and that the basic maintenance and utilities are taken care of. In a way, we're subsidizing the house without claiming any public rights to ownership (meaning if we pull sponsorship within the first year, the house will probably go under without someone stepping in to cover it). Also, we're allowing an avenue for Barry and Vincent to request extra sponsorship if they get a really expensive idea that they think will be lucrative but need a little more backing for.
What we get out of it is a private opera box that seats five for Beato and Battler to go see the performances. In the very front of the programs, they will be recognized as contributing sponsors and Beato/Battler's personal bodyguards (aka the Stakes) will be allowed to carry their own weaponry and ensure their masters' safety while on the premises.
Mammon's going to be checking up on the opera house's financial books once a month to make sure their funds are being used properly and to help point out places where the house can either increase profits or cut costs. For the most part, it's going to run through me, so anyone who wants more details, involved beyond the actual performance attending when Beato and Battler decide who to take with them/let use the box, let me know! I'm really excited about this, and I hope the rest of you are as well!
EDIT: Oh! The opening night of the opera house is September 24th. There's going to be an open log tossed up by Barry-mun then for meeting, greeting, mingling, etc. Mammon will be there and she'll want to take Sakuya along. Mammon is perfectly capable of working and taking the maid out on a date at the same time.
