new android toy

The Google Nexus S finally arrived in Canada, so I picked one up. My old phone is an unlocked T-Mobile G1, the first phone on the market to use Android. It still works well, but Android 1.6 was feeling very old, and I was also constantly bumping up against the limited internal storage capacity. Do you have any recommendations for backing up LiveJournal? I seem to remember you saying you did that once.

Yes, I backed it up using LogJam - I think that's only available for linux/unix though, and I don't know what you're running. There is a popular windows client available, LJ Archive, which I just tried out for kicks, and it worked fine for me - downloaded all entries and comments. My only (small) quibble is that it downloads your journal to its own file format, but there are options in the menus to export your journal to html or xml if you prefer.

Yeah, a couple of weeks ago it was getting hit by a DDOS attack targeting some Russian dissident bloggers - I don't know if those problems are still ongoing.
