The color is a bit off in the pic...yeah those are potatoes.
You can't really taste the coconut milk...it is to give it the yellow color (the actual curry paste is reddish) and to thicken up the sauce. I also mixed in some water to try to tone down the spicy-ness.
Give them something sweet to drink to offset the spicy.
I love curries, but for some reason not Thai curries. My husband says it's because restaurants are cheap and don't put enough coconut milk in them. He says a good Thai curry needs a lot of coconut milk.

Anyway, apart from the coconut milk it sounds like I'd love it - although I'd doubtless still give it a try...I'll try anything once, me!

I was a bit surprised at how much coconut milk the recipe called for. It was definitely good!
