Hiatus: Regress

by LS

Just as I was about to give up pacing in front of the fire and go out and search for him, I hear the scratching of a key at the lock.

"No, no... I've got it." John's voice is loud and slurred. "Just a second, my pretty. So impatient!"

I stride over to the door and wrench it open. "What the devil...!"

the more I read about Lestrade, the more I like him... to the point I don't want to see him hurt when the boys will mend their relationship.
Perhaps you can have some use of the older Holmes (it would be about time)... Something like trying to seduce Gus to clear the way for his brother with the doctor and get caught in the game to the point of deciding to keep the relation going (and maybe struggle a little to save it when Gus unmask his game)-
BTW wonderful Job... I'm liking this series more and more at every new chapter.

No police inspectors were harmed in the making of this fic. Besides, Lestrade is made of stern stuff... and he's not afraid to stand up for what he wants, Sherlock Holmes or not.

alas, Mycroft's only love in this tale will be chocolates and champagne.

I am glad you're enjoying it, as I'm having a grand time writing it.

W00t for actually using the phrase "like an old glove". Also, I love your Lestrade far, far more than that the law allows, especially during his scene with Sadie.

Wasn't it you who coined the phrase? If so, big credit to you!

Lestrade is quite fun to write in this one. So steadfast and loyal. And protective of his man.

Thanks for reading!

Poor Watson. I have the overwhelming urge to give him a big hug. Lestrade is wonderful, caring and there for Watson :D, hope he finds a good man and doesn't feel too hurt when Watson and Holmes manage to resolve their issues.

Watson needs all the hugs he can get, the poor dear. But don't worry, he'll be up and at 'em in no time.

And Lestrade... he'll be fine, too. But I think I have to make him hurt a bit first. No pain, no gain.

Very true, no pain no gain. I'm very intrigued by what's going to happen next and can't wait for more :D

This is fine wine. Watson and Lestrade shall always be more than friends. And the used glove!

My favorite was from Slick Sadie (what a name!): "a meaner woman would've robbed him."

And she means it, too!

And then Lestrade's reassurance that Love Will Prevail, and everything...

On to the next with baited breath.

Glad you enjoyed this bit, because I had big fun writing it. I have no idea where Slick Sadie (she's no lady) came from... but she wouldn't go away until I wrote her in. (In the original version, her character was Tad, a slim, Holmes look-alike molly boy, but... it got to deep, and everyone started crying...)

Lestrade is such a good black dress. I love him so, and he deserves to be loved, too. We'll see where it goes. Gotta get Holmes where he needs to be next.

Thanks for reading, and for your encouragement. Means more than you know.
