Very disturbing and ....compelling. When you describe Nicholas's view of the blood around him I picture the dripping blood images from the opening credits of "Dexter".

"Nicholas had liked her. As much as he liked her death." The emotional equivalency of a psychopath. Brilliant.

I was actually drawing from the Dexter books to portray that particular mentality - Dexter sorts people into two categories "safe" and "dangerous".

I'm glad you liked it.

Interesting look at what the inside of a male Confessor's mind might be like. Serena made it sound like they enjoyed killing but Nicholas always seemed so quiet.

I don't see it as enjoyment, so much as fascination. Like you said, he's very quiet.

Glad you liked it.

I'm glad you posted this; I was looking forward to seeing the entries for the challenge. Would almost certainly have got my vote! So much rich description here, so creepy and insightful.
Also this seems similar in style to what I've read so far of Son of Blood (as compared to BfaS); shorter, forceful paragraphs that lay out the most salient points, most important moments, richest visuals, and draw you onwards. I'm not sure I'm explaining it well, but I really like it :D

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! Did you do one? If you did, you should post it!

Yes, I think my style has developed a lot since BfS and Castle in the Air. I go back and read those and I'm kind of "Wtf?" I think SoB is when I really hit my stride.

Thank you for noticing! ^_^
