I don't know what I liked more; the Richard/Darken bonding, false as it may be, or the Egremont/Darken scene with genuine feelings. I also wonder what will happen when Cara brings Salindra back!
I think the Egremont scenes in this were my favorites. It's been a long time since I've worked with Egremont, since I have a tendency to kill him off. So it was fun to get back to him and try to get into how the whole Kahlan situation would have affected his relationship with Darken.

Richard sighed, but nodded. It was so complicated, being a Rahl. He wasn’t sure he could do it. He’d already completely failed at being the Seeker.
In the end, he was just a woodcutter’s son.
I love this bit. Richard is just so humble, he doesn't know how special he is.
“It was,” Lord Rahl agreed. “At times I think I should have been a player on the stage.”
Egremont smiled. Yes, Darken Rahl was an excellent player, so good that he could deceive even himself.
This is just perfect.
I also love how Egremont is completely not intimidated by Darken. It's a great scene :)
