It seemed at times that so much of his life was woven with lies that he no longer knew where they began and ended.

Fascinating :D

I love Egremont's scene with Richard. Even if it was a plan between him and Darken, I know he still felt grateful that Darken survived.

And yikes, Darken is a master manipulator. Poor Richard.

Yes that was something that was really interesting about writing most of this story - in almost every scene, one character is both lying and telling the truth at the same time.
