Awwwwww yay! I'm so glad you liked it! And this is such a fantastic review! :3 This has really made my night, as I felt like I fell a little short with this piece.
I'm so glad you liked Walter! Thanks for the amazing review, bb! *kisses*
Random question - is the Jennsen in your cover art influenced by Julianne Moore in any way? Because I have screencaps of her as Clarice Starling in "Hannibal" and she looks so much like your Jennsen in some of them it's positively eerie - and also gives the story an even twistier aspect.
Thank you! Glad you like it. :3 I was trying out some new tools on Photoshop. I just changed graphics programs and I haven't quite learned my way around the new one yet.
Random Question: Lol I'm tempted to pretend I'm that cool and that it's deliberate, but no, that's coincidence. I do often watch Silence of the Lambs though, to get into a sort of Darkly Dangerous Darken kind of mood for certain pieces. <3
If she wouldn't wait for the Seeker, she wouldn't wait for Walter.
He wasn’t worth the wait.
Poor Walter. I like how you give him a real personality, not just being used for other people to work out their issues like he often is, and yet that is still part of it. I believe in his relationship as just the two of them, and simultaneously as having a lot to do with Darken.
Also I like that Walter feels so trapped - he can't be Darken, because he doesn't have the stomach for it (which is such a great line, by the way), but he can't be Richard the Great Hero either.
And Jennsen is so beautifully tough here, in her quiet, unassuming way. I really get a good sense of her Rahlness :D
“Why are you using your Lord Rahl voice?” she asked when they broke apart for air.
“Habit,” he answered, bending to kiss her throat.
And you know I love this ending :D I also wonder if Darken's Lord Rahl voice is a habit, after years of ruling ;)
And for some reason Jennsen wearing purple just fits so well :D
Jennsen looked up, her eyes every bit as sharp as Darken Rahl’s had ever been. “I got tired of waiting for tomorrow.” Hence the title :D Oh, poor Jennsen. Richard didn't mean to abandon you, it's just what he does when distracted by things like banelings or kittens in trees.
All he wanted was the woman in his arms and a quiet place to call home, somewhere by the sea. Awwwww :D
If Malray waggled his brows any harder, he’d take flight. I love the moments of light heartedness amongst the angst and the drama and the romance :D
Tomorrow he’ll be here Poor, poor Jennsen. Every man promises they'll come back to here, and they never do. And it's all the worse that Walter wants nothing more than to get back to her, but can't.
He wasn’t worth the wait. Is this why he doesn't return to her? Why he takes up with Mika? Poor Walter.
“Why are you using your Lord Rahl voice?” she asked when they broke apart for air. A real Red Riding Hood moment here :D All the better to seduce you, my dear.
This is one of the few stories I've written that takes place within the canon timeline, so yes, Walter does go off with Mika at the end here - because he thinks Jennsen couldn't possibly still be waiting for him. It's even possible that Jennsen saw him and Mika, and just didn't know it.
OMG JENNSEN AS LITTLE RED AND DARKEN AS THE BIG BAD WOLF. I MIGHT TRY TO DRAW THAT.
I'm so glad that you liked it and Walter seemed in character to you. Thanks for the awesome review. <3
You're welcome. :) I'm relatively new to the fandom so, yeah, hi! I've been reading some of your other fics, too, and you're such an amazing writer! I should have gone to bed an hour ago but I lost track of time reading. lol.

I am dribbling at the mere idea she has Rahl on her hands now and doesn't actually know it...

I might write a sequel after I finish Dragon Blood. <3

Walter definitely is trapped - he can't be Darken, and he can't be himself.
Thanks for the review! <3
