I can’t actually compete in LotS LAS because I’m moderating it, but I loved the Round 5 prompt so much I wrote something for it anyway. The prompt was this picture.

If this were an entry I'd have voted for it :D It's such a different take on the prompt, seeing it from Shota's POV. There's such bitter-sweetness about her past with Zedd and such beautiful descriptions - And Shota wept tears she would later deny, as icy fingers of despair gripped her spine

I really enjoy Shota/Zedd, and there is this sort of aura of tragic romance around them every time they have a scene together. I was trying to capture that here.

I love the idea of Shota intervening in the events that led to Serena's death and then never revealing the truth to Zedd.

The tingle of magic always at the back of Shota’s mind, the spark that had been there ever since her glorious months of summer with Zeddicus at her side - that spark was gone, snuffed out.

Zeddicus was fully free of Shota at last, and she of him.

It was not a freedom she enjoyed. I loved this and was heartbroken by it. It makes me sad that Shota always seemed more affected by the her past relationship with Zedd than he did.

Wonderful fic. I would have absolutely voted for it in the LAS.

I love this :D

It's so haunting, with Shota and Zedd's shared past, and I love seeing it from her perspective.

The confession of such a powerful wizard sent a ripple across the world, to those who were sensitive enough to feel it. In their forest, the Night Wisps screamed. The Prelate knocked over her goblet in the Palace of the Prophets. Giller the Wizard dropped a scroll, cursing as the dry paper cracked and crumbled when it hit the floor.

And Shota wept tears she would later deny, as icy fingers of despair gripped her spine. For some reason this is my favorite part - the beautiful descriptions, naturally, but also the way you draw in other characters.

I like that Zedd being Confessed sent out such powerful vibes - the blue fire in the show made me think it was somehow an even bigger deal than Confession usually is.

Thank you so much! Haunting is exactly what their relationship is doing to both of them, IMO.

That's my favorite part too. :3

Me too! I saw it as Zedd's magic instinctively rising to his defense before being defeated by the power of confession.

Nnngh I loved this! I ship Zedd with Shota so hard even though part of me feels bad >_>

But this was excellent, I like seeing more fic with Shota. I loved there was no hesitation on her part, no regrets at having the Confessors killed as long as Zedd was freed. And he needed to be free of Confession so...But nnngh Shota. I wish I could say something better but I'm nnngh too much right now.

Lol, IKR. Ever since we RPed Shota/Nathan I feel like I'm cheating on them every time I write Shota/Zedd, even though I love them as a pairing too. Also RP!Shota is >_> at a Nathan Haldir Nathan icon in this post.

Haha well, I think Zedd/Shota is pretty delicious, I just like Nathan/Shota more >_> but no one can't blame me.

I still remember those old threads with Nathan and beast!Zedd, and Zedd giving him his old engagement ring lolol XD

And yeah, in my mind Shota will always be the daughter of Oberon the Fae King, as played by Lucius Malfoy. XD
