I don't know what's been going on the past few days, but I'm not one to sport black eyes. [Rarely did he sport any injury unless self inflicted.]

Would someone kindly tell me where I can find darker furnishings for this home? It's dreadfully bright.

I do not think you should search for darkness so readily. Perhaps you will appreciate the light more, given time...

You might even be less likely to be injured in such an unsightly way, if you were to do so.
