Bellies, Floating Radishes, Scientist, and Rambles

I've started to take bellydance lessons (I have class with Traeonna ^^). They've been really fun so far, but it is hard to learn to isolate certain muscles. I'm practicing though! And the hip scarves are so fun with all the jinglies! Thus far, we've learned a hip swivel that looks like a washing machine agitator, a double hip movement, and ( Read more... )

contemplation, bellydance, books

I'm in that same space about needing space. There are times when I am a solitary creature, wanting to crawl into my little home-haven or walk anonymously, enjoying some activity or wandering the hallways of my mind. It's enormously difficult for me to defend that space. If I am invited out to something, I almost always accept, even if I'm initially reluctant; I'd feel quite guilty if I declined simply because I wanted to be on my own. Yeah, sometimes it'd be nice to just hang out with a few instead of the whole group, but there doesn't always seem to be a polite way to arrange it.

I wonder what brought this about.

Correction: I wonder what made this a public rant over others.

Assuming someone is oblivious assumes that you know their every thought. The world isn't third-person omnicient. Perhaps you should presume less.

First, it wasn't meant as a rant. I was just contemplating; there was no maliciousness or negative feeling behind the post.

Second, why do you assume the oblivious statement is about you? Only one of the triggers for the contemplation post was your message last week; a lot of it came from other places. And though the triggers were specific things, I went into a general pondering on all the relationships I've had, not just ours. These were not all my thoughts on all my relationships; it's a partial look at some specific areas and threads.

I'm sorry if you assumed a lot of that was specifically about you. Perhaps you should follow your own advice and presume less.
