Tab spotted her brother and pulled away from Luke after giving him a deep kiss and squeezing his arse. Birthdays always seemed to make her horny, and now she had a husband to permanently satisfy those needs... she really was enjoying married life.
She bounded up to Riley and threw her arms around him as she grinned up at him from under her red bangs. "Happy birthday, big bro! Fashionably late for once... that's usually my trick. How was the thingogram?"
Re: Tab & RileyasinthecityJune 7 2009, 02:51:57 UTC
Tab frowned. "You didn't say that before... did you?"
She sniggered as she ruffled her brother's curls. "Well, I promise that as your sister I will stop you before any other secrets come spilling out. I'll steal the mic off you and start singing to distract people with my awesomeness. Maybe just tell a few to start with? It's not bad if you do want to keep it quiet while you deal with the shock."
Re: Tab & RileypullmystethJune 7 2009, 02:59:46 UTC
"I thought you got what I was saying!" Riley said with a shrug. "He could hardly coordinate the glass to his mouth, he wasn't going to coordinate groping back."
He nodded as his thumbnail went to his mouth. "Tara and Lachlan, Pat and Aiden, and Josh. They'll be the first to worry if I start acting strangely. Lachlan's already giving me the questioning eyebrow look across the room. I just can't believe it, I really can't."
Re: Tab & RileyasinthecityJune 7 2009, 03:09:54 UTC
"Well, I didn't! You were too vague!" Tab glared at some random spot and bared her teeth a little. "Fucking slutty strippers. Strippers aren't supposed to do any touching."
"If you'd given me more warning I would have been more subtle about my excitement. For all he knows we're just talking about birthday presents, anyway. Which I already gave you this morning. Although now I'm wondering if I should have got two... Maybe I can find a baby Hendrix t-shirt to go with the Zeppelin one? Even if you have girls, they can be into rock. I'll make sure of it. And okay, it's more a baby present than a you present, but I did get us the AC/DC tickets. It was hard work, but I won in the end. Fucking arsehole teenager thinks he can get one over me." Tab took a breath and looked at her brother. "I know, beanpole. I do. It's crazy, but it's a good crazy! Can't get any better than twins."
Re: Tab & RileypullmystethJune 7 2009, 03:19:56 UTC
"Well, he wasn't telling them not to and he was one of the grooms. It was just one of those nights, I guess. I can only remember vague pieces of it, so god only knows what else happened. There's video somewhere." Riley shook his head, hoping it would never surface.
He sniggered, and sipped his drink. "No, it's the Yodalandar. It's a sixth sense or something. Well, they're like us. So it could be a boy and a girl. It could be anything. Knowing my luck, it will be two girls and I will be forced to live a life following them around and beating guys off with sticks. Were t he tickets so I have to end up taking you so you can sit on my shoulders the whole time for a better view?" He leant against the bar, exhaling slowly. "I guess it means we won't need to try again. Because to be honest, I don't think I could go through this again."
Re: Tab & RileyasinthecityJune 7 2009, 03:29:43 UTC
"Yeah, I remember that part of you telling me about it. I still want to see the video, but maybe you boys should just be left to your lack of memories." Tab smirked a little as she rest her head against her brother's shoulder.
"Damn his skilled Yodalanliness. Just make sure you don't beat off all the boys, otherwise they'll resent you and rebel. And no, the tickets were because I thought you'd like to hang out with me at something that cool. If, however, I do wind up on your shoulders than I won't complain..." Tab hugged him tightly and gave him a sad smile. "I wouldn't expect you to go through it again, either. I'm still glad you did, though. You should be a dad, Riley. You'll rock it."
Re: Tab & RileypullmystethJune 7 2009, 03:40:17 UTC
"I don't even want to see the video. It's probably buried in a forest with Saturn in ruling on a full moon and sprinkled in sacrificed pig's blood," Riley sniggered. "No guy is worth marrying if he doesn't have one bachelor party horror story."
He scratched his head. "I hope I can pull off the cool dad thing, but I dunno. I worry too much and get all overprotective. I asked Evie to take time off work. I don't want her overdoing things. Now it just seems even more like she should take it easy. I can't profess to even know what it's like to be pregnant."
Re: Tab & RileyasinthecityJune 7 2009, 03:48:44 UTC
"Then I guess that makes you and Luke in the clear, otherwise me and Evie would be looking elsewhere," Tab teased.
"Yeah, but that's just you. I know I give you shit, but seriously... you're the coolest brother I could have ever asked for. Even when you're being dorky and freaking out at whatever. You'll be the world's best dad, I promise. Maybe you should ask Tara?"
Re: Tab & RileypullmystethJune 7 2009, 06:40:03 UTC
"Hey, don't be lumping me in with your husband's stripper faux pas," Riley teased with a snort of laughter. "At least I didn't try to do a Lachlan and crowd surf... with no crowd."
He rested some of his weight against her and then his chin on her head. "This is one thing that just has to be okay. I have no idea how we're going to handle twins, I really don't. But I want it to be okay. You're right. I might talk to Tara about the pregnant thing. Evie probably already has."
Re: Tab & RileyasinthecityJune 7 2009, 06:43:13 UTC
"I thought you thought he didn't do anything wrong?" Tab said as she arched an eyebrow. "Besides, you got your nipple pierced. How do you crowd surf without a crowd?"
"It will be..." Tab assured him quietly, hoping she was right. "Do you need me and Luke to move out? You have twins coming, you'll need the space."
Re: Tab & RileypullmystethJune 7 2009, 06:50:14 UTC
"I didn't say that, I just said he wasn't the one doing the groping. I don't think anything right was done that night. That's the whole point," Riley said with a shrug. "You don't. You just crash to the floor and knock yourself out," he explained and sipped his drink.
He looked at her and laughed. "Evie's not going to get that big. They won't be here for another eight months. You and Luke will be deserting us back to New York well before then. That was the plan, wasn't it? After the bar is open?" As he said it, he felt a pang in his gut. He really liked having Tab close.
Re: Tab & RileyasinthecityJune 7 2009, 06:55:43 UTC
Tab's expression fell as she gave a slight nod. Her own gut twisted as she realised she honestly didn't want to be away from her brother again, even if it was just living here in New York City again. She exhaled a rough breath, and caught eye across the crowd. He arched an eyebrow in question, obviously noticing her expression, but Tab just looked away as she hugged her brother tightly. "Yeah, it was the plan," she mumbled. Now she wasn't so sure about the plan. She'd been spoiled living with her brother all this time.
Re: Tab & RileypullmystethJune 7 2009, 07:09:20 UTC
Riley frowned. "Hey, what's up? I saw that face. I can read you just as well as you can read me, you know," he reminded and hugged his arms around her.
Re: Tab & RileyasinthecityJune 7 2009, 07:14:41 UTC
Tab shrugged a little in his embrace as she wet her lips. "I don't want to leave you again... I've liked living you. Loved it... I had my brother back. New York's not the same anymore."
Re: Tab & RileypullmystethJune 7 2009, 07:27:23 UTC
Riley bit down on his lip. He wasn't really expecting to hear that. Tab had always been so pro-New York, like she belonged there. But then, so much really had changed in the last year. "Then stay. Even if you don't want to stick around in our place, get a house nearby." He shifted so he could stoop down and see her eyes. "I'd love it if my twins' only and coolest Aunty was there for them to invade when they needed a dose of fun."
Re: Tab & RileyasinthecityJune 7 2009, 07:33:56 UTC
Tab took her brother's face between her hands and looked at him. She hadn't thought she'd ever really not feel at home in New York, but right now she didn't. It was times like these, she realised her home was pretty much wherever Riley was. She'd thrown herself into New York while he was in Scotland because it had been better than pining. She had been in love with the City for years, but things changed. Even she'd changed to a degree.
"She'd love it too," Tab agreed quietly. "I need to talk to Luke, though. I'm not making this decision for us. If he wants to stay in New York, we'll stay... I'll just have to drive up whenever they need fun."
She bounded up to Riley and threw her arms around him as she grinned up at him from under her red bangs. "Happy birthday, big bro! Fashionably late for once... that's usually my trick. How was the thingogram?"
