[NYC] Two for the price of one

Riley was still in a shocked daze by the time he got to the birthday party at Luke's bar. He had been much like that the whole afternoon following the sonogram. In fact, he wasn't sure he was ever going to be able to stop his jaw hanging open again. He had gone through nearly a whole pack of cigarettes on the balcony of Aiden's apartment, wishing the whole time that Lachlan had already arrived from Princeton with the potential of sharing a joint.
Then he accidentally spent nearly half an hour in the shower, having gone into yet another stunned daze, and not realising how much time was lapsing. It made him nearly half an hour late for his pills too, and he tried to choke them down his throat so quick he threw them up in the sink and had to start all over again at a much more rational pace. He was becoming more and more convinced he might need some medication for this anxiety or he was never going to get through it.
Especially now.
They were late to the party and it was pretty much in full swing by the time they arrived. At the door, Riley veered straight to the bar and ordered a double Scotch and coke. He just needed something to get him going and loosen him up.
