It was an impromptu party and nothing was intended to be splashy. Tara and her parents with the help of Beth and Keiran got a bunch of great food together with some balloons and streamers to give the place a birthday feel. A trip to the liquor store had alcohol on hand if anyone felt like they wanted to have a drink to celebrate and then SingStar and Guitar Hero were hooked up to their wide screen TV ready to celebrate Lachlan's 29th birthday. Tara's parents stepped into grandparent duty and took Baby Riley for the night so Lachlan or Tara could let their hair down and relax after weeks of stress.
Tara had gifted her husband with the infamous Queen SingStar disc once everyone arrived and the festivities started then. The way he grabbed her and kissed her passionately in front of everyone, you would think she had just given him half of Edinburgh Castle. Not that she was complaining at all. She watched in amusement as Lachlan belted out 'Don't Stop Me Know' at the mic whilst barely managing not to spill a drop of his Scotch and Coke. She smiled and made sure everyone at least had a drink in their hand. Yes, Lachlan was well on his way to getting drunk, but he deserved it. It was his birthday and he hadn't had a good drink in a long time.
