"Bedroom!" Tab called out in reply. When Luke had left for the office, Tab had gotten out her guitar and some pen and paper. She sat cross legged on the floor of their bedroom as she tried to get down the lyrics in her head that just weren't leaving her alone. There wasn't a whole song yet, just bits and pieces.
Tab put down her pen and grinned back at him. She hadn't seem him this happy all week. She'd really missed his smile, but had understood its absence. "You've just discovered the joys of fries dipped into a chocolate sundae?"
"That could be arranged," Tab replied with a smirk. "So you want some lunch since you're here now? I'm sure if nothing else she'll appreciate the thought."
Luke nodded. "I'll get the work done tonight." He was hungry now she mentioned it. "I have this feeling Andy hasn't broached the subject of Christmas with her at all because he doesn't want to think about it."
Tab finally slid off his lap, though she looked less than thrilled. But since her stomach had decided to make itself known, she figured she should try and feed them. With what, was another issue all together. She took Luke's hand and tugged him up. "I promise I haven't mentioned Christmas to him. I really was just wanting him to know he could come hang out whenever. Guess he's going to just hang out at Ali's anyway."
Luke shook his head and dragged himself up reluctantly. It was tempting to just stay there and fall asleep on the bed. "He's working. Seven days straight. Ali won't even have the pleasure of his company. I know why he's doing it, too. So it doesn't eat him. If he lets it, he'll want a drink. Work is the new booze."
