(Why?) I was privileged once to converse with the guy who played Mike Teevee (at Dragon*Con about ten years ago. The guest list is sooo unwieldy that some people just get ignored....) Mostly growing up in the '70's, as I recall; which for me included seeing "Willy Wonka" in the theater. Dad, who took me and so had to watch the movie too, wasn't impressed; he much preferred Gene Wilder in "Young Fronkensteen."

Total irrelevancies.

Since the rest of it was filmed in Munich, the whole movie has a look we all recognize as vaguely not- British, I think. (And why the odd German accent turns up.) But it's quite pretty, and if PTT were shot as a live- action series, it might look like that....
