i thought you would appreciate this.. my mom called right after the game ended to tell my husband (who was rooting for the bears) that she was going to divorce him, and that peyton and i share the qualities of all "second generation drewites," which apparently include a large amount of "moxie," "sticktuitiveness," and "inspiration."
Peyton deserved that game MVP, don't care what anyone says. To throw on time and that accurately, in the rain, is something else. Homeslice kicked that back monkey to the curb.
I liked all that but the "don't care what anyone says."
It's kinda like, "In spite of what your mother says, I think you're pretty."
I actually haven't heard anybody say that he didn't deserve it and have read several things saying that he definitely did. I mean, Addai and Rhodes had AWESOME games. But so did Hester, and nobody's nominating him for MVP. No matter whose relative he is, I think Peyton did the most of any one player to win that game.
Lots of folks wanted to hand it to Addai or Rhodes instead. Let's call them "haters".
Seriously, one of my favorite aspects of sports is giving credit where it's due. When somebody beats you, you credit them for a good game, and if you beat them, they do the same. If they do this, they're a good sport; if they don't, they're a punk. It's a simple world, and it makes sense. Some message board jockeys refuse to give credit, regardless of performance, and it drives me nuts.
Also, I apply the same logic to Prince's halftime show - man doesn't have to pluck every chord in order to rock.

Man, my sister had a migraine so I couldn't yell. You should have seen the completely silent jig I danced when Hayden made that catch.
And my congrats to Peyton for being incredible on the run.
PS - this was the first Super Bowl ever that I was more interested in the game than the commercials.

p.s. If you dislike haters, I'd suggest steering clear of fark.com - it's scary in there.
