I can't believe its been 10 years since the day America changed forever. Ten years ago, I was a junior in college. I had not been feeling well and skipped my first class. I felt the same way in 2007, walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. It's not that the sight of Ground Zero didn't affect me, but for some reason, being on that bridge and imagining all those people just trying to get somewhere safe....that's what really hit me hard. I'd like to go back as well, since when I was there, they hadn't started the memorial yet.

One thing to add: If you don't have it, you should download the 9/11 memorial app for your phone. It's incredibly touching and takes you on a walking tour of the area, which ends with the architect talking about his idea for the memorial.
