Isn't hard to make! I made a whole bunch on Sunday. I'm only posting about it now because I'm having leftovers for breakfast - the veggie stuff mostly

You still need to see the house. I keep forgetting that!
Perhaps we will have a sushi party one of these days. I want to get some better knives first. Things got messier than absolutely necessary because I used whatever I already own. It became clear in short order that my cuts were merely "good enough" but "good enough" isn't actually good enough for the sharing!
When I was in Orlando, I tried to make sushi for the first time. It didn't work out very well. However, a few months back, we picked up Annie Chun's sushi kit... so easy that the kids can make their own, using whatever fillings they want. So we made it up with shrimp, since that's Bree's favorite. I figured out why I'd had trouble rolling the sushi in Orlando. It was because I was following instructions to wrap the mat around the sushi to form the rolls, which made sense but was messier than rolling the maki on top of the mat like a rolling pin. The bottom line? I realized that I'd been putting too much pressure on the rolls and ripping through the nori.
Anyway, I found that if I buy the frozen, pre-cooked shrimp and thaw it under the faucet, then pat dry with a paper towel, that it's much easier to work with. I count out exactly the amount that I need per person, then reseal the package immediately. That way, I can use the leftovers to make up shrimp salad or dip them in panko crumbs. Three meals out of one 100ct package.
