summary: in which jongup begs his hyungs and zelo to add leggo into their song lyrics because he heard it in a chris brown song and thought it was really cool
they’ve almost done it. it’s almost perfect. the finishing touch. yongguk furrows his brow in concentration. this is it. this will win them over, he thinks. himchan is next to him, taking peeks at his music sheet. daehyun, zelo, and youngjae sit in a half circle and wait patiently (impatiently, actually) for the finishing touches to be made.
the room they’re in is so quiet that the sudden squeak of the door opening catches their attention immediately. it’s jongup. he’s poking his head in a little cautiously. daehyun raises an eyebrow; himchan waves for him to come in.
he steps in and quietly closes the door. the others look at him expectantly. he’s squirming under their gazes.
“umm, hyungs,” he looks at zelo, “zelo. i was wondering if i--we--no, i--i don’t know, but i was wondering if one word can be added to our new song?” he makes the statement a question.
yongguk raises and eyebrow and says nothing, waiting for him to continue. jongup squirms some more. he’s never really confronted the other members about song lyrics before so he’s unsure and nervous and oh god, he might just pass out.
“well, i was listening to this chris brown song--”
“of course!” someone murmurs.
a few chuckles and it quiets down again. jongup is blushing and he wants to run away, or puke. or both. he isn’t sure.
“i--i was listening to this chris brown song...and at the beginning...he says ‘leggo’ and i think it sounds really cool. i was wondering if we can add it somewhere in our song. please, hyungs...i--i don’t even have to say it. zelo can say it...even though i really want to say it...but that’s okay! zelo can say it! please, hyungs...i just want ‘leggo’ to be in our song...please...hyungs? please?” he’s rambling and he doesn’t even know it.
once he stops talking, the room is dead quiet.
one. two. three.
himchan bursts out laughing like a maniac and daehyun joins him. soon zelo and youngjae are laughing as well. himchan is laughing so hard he falls off the couch and on top of his dongsaengs. it’s quite a sight to see. yongguk is still seated and clutching his music sheet, trying hard not to laugh.
it’s obvious he’s laughing, though, from the way his shoulder trembles and jongup deflates. he’s red as a tomato, but something bubbles up in his stomach and he begins laughing as well.
soon all six members are laughing. yongguk is the first one to calm himself. he wipes the tears from his eyes and looks at jongup.
“okay, okay,” he says, “we’ll add ‘leggo’ since you want it so badly.”
“i get to say it, though!” zelo adds, just to spite jongup.
he grins cheekily at his hyung and jongup tackles him. zelo falls onto daehyun and he pushes them off and they crash onto youngjae who pushes them away but manages to hit himchan. the second oldest won’t stand for that so he gets up and stands on the couch and jumps on youngjae.
“we’re adults, should we really be doing this right now?” yongguk mumbles to himself.
