Since I don't know what DDOS is, will I miss them?

You NEVER want them to come back. EVER. DDOS means Distributed Denial of Service. Someone deliberately floods a site's bandwidth on certain servers so that people can't use it properly. I wasn't able to post anything here, not even comments, ALL DAY yesterday.
