Is it possible to bring on labour by throwing up too much? I had never heard of it, but my mum is worried that ne throwing up with the gall stones is going to bring it on too soon.

I'm not absolutely certain but I would imagine it has to do with how violently you're throwing up, and how frequently. From what I read online of other women's experiences it's possible but very unlikely. The thing you'll want to watch out for is dehydration. That's more of a worry than actually throwing up... at least as far as I know.

Yeah, that was more my worry about dehydration. I haven't really thrown up that much when it comes down to it. The only time I did was when I went to hospital so I was looked after.

I think you'll be ok. My younger sister had severe vomiting with her first little boy at the very end of pregnancy for like 3 weeks. It was awful and she had a virus, but it didn't put her in labor.. sorry I didn't even think about this example before.

Just try to eat things that aren't acidic and especially not greasy or fatty, or high in caffeine content because those will set it off worse. Hang in there.. I'm praying for ya!

If you can, call the advise nurse if possible.

I'm not really sure about that, maybe you should call your midwife and ask about it?

While I was pregnant, I got the flu and was throwing up for two days straight and started having contractions. I was around 33 weeks. I ended up going to the hospital where they put me on an IV for a while due to dehydration. I think you should call a nurses line or something.

Good luck momma and I will say a little prayer for you. Try to drink as much water as you can muster.

Thanks heaps. The two times I have been violently throwing up I went to hospital so they looked after me then. I threw up last night, but been ok since and having a lot of water. I think my body is just trying to get rid of the fat sitting above my gall bladder.
