this is the Silver Palate's "Chunky Apple Walnut Cake" recipe (with my own interpolations), which I have made frequently with the apples from our tree, usually a couple of times each fall, especailly for Rosh Hashana with my family. I recommend making this cake frequently; anyone who likes apples and/or dessert is pretty much guaranteed to enjoy
