The Better Thief
This is my first Gundam Seed and AsuCaga fic. I wrote it for 30_nights. Hope you guys like it!

The Better Thief [Theme #6 Stolen Heart]
“Argh!!!” Cagalli screamed in frustration.
“Cagalli, cool down.” Athrun offered her a cup of cold water.
“HOW CAN I COOL DOWN!” Cagalli took the cup of water and finished it in one gulp.
“Orb has finally regained peace; everything seems to be going fine and now this!” Cagalli pointed accusingly to a stack of papers on her desk.
“You mean the phantom thief, Shadow?” Athrun asked.
“YES! He had to come and show up and steal some of the funniest things in the world!” Cagalli almost shouted, her golden orbs burning.
“But some say he is a righteous guy who gives what he steals to the poor.” Athrun said.
“Being kind is one thing, creating chaos and turning the whole nation of Orb upside down is another! If he wants to be so kind he can pretty much donate to charity!” Cagalli slumped back into her chair.
“So this phantom thief, Shadow steals from the rich to give to the poor?” Athrun asked.
“Not only that, he steals art pieces and precious gems like normal thieves, he also steals things like recipes, a smile, a wig and even shoes?” Cagalli said in disbelief.
“He sends warning letters in advance, operates only at night, has never got caught and no one has ever seen his face at all?” Athrun said to Cagalli.
“The Orb police force will lose its dignity in front of other nations!” Cagalli put her head in her hands and started to rub her forehead in them.
“But Cagalli, he is only an amateur thief!” Athrun said as he neared Cagalli.
“What do you mean he is an amateur thief!” Cagalli said angrily, her eyes blazing. “Are you undermining the Orb Police Force Zala?
“No no, it’s not that!” Athrun said hurriedly when he heard Cagalli call him by his surname. “It’s just that, there is a better thief around.” He said with his eyes twinkling.
“And who is it?” Cagalli asked curiously.
“Why she is right in front of me!” Athrun answered, his emerald orbs staring straight into Cagalli’s.
Cagalli stared at Athrun for a while before his words began to register in her head.
“You mean me?” Cagalli pointed to herself. Athrun just smiled.
“How can I be a thief?” Cagalli yelled. Then she quietened down.
“You…you mean the ice cream and the chocolates?” Cagalli said, her voice quivering.
“I…I’m sorry! I did not mean to do that! I…I got hungry! I just…I just…” Cagalli looked up at Athrun, her face burning red.
Athrun chuckled. He did not expect these confessions from Cagalli. He also felt her guilty eyes and red cheeks were very cute. It would just make his job easier now…
“I didn’t mean that!” Athrun laughed.
“Then what do you mean?” Cagalli asked innocently, her beautiful orbs staring into Athrun’s.
Athrun was totally mesmerized. Cagalli’s eyes never failed to fascinate him.
“Of course you are the better thief! After all, you stole my heart!” Athrun said as he inched closer to Cagalli.
“Wha…” Cagalli was cut off by a deep kiss from Athrun. She responded to his kiss as his hands caressed her burning cheeks, then her hair. They finally broke the kiss due to the lack of air.
Cagalli was blushing furiously. Athrun smiled before going closer to her once again.
“Now you believe me?” Athrun whispered gently to Cagalli as he planted a kiss on her forehead.
