I love those maps. The Blue Mars and Venus with Oceans map are quite the inspiration for gaming.

Many thanks for the Venus link - I'm probably going to need something similar for Forgotten Futures XI, I've just emailed him to see if I can use his height map and similar methods to make it.

Love the heightfield, or "bump map" as we old-skool 3D artists insist on calling it. Interesting that both planets show such strong, scarce height features... not I want to see Jupiter's and Saturn's moons.
